Over a quarter of power customers in Twiggs, Wilco, Bleckley without electricity

Out of a total of just under 7,000 customers, nearly 2,000 outages are being reported.

About 28% of all power customers in Twiggs, Wilkinson and Bleckley counties are experiencing outages after Hurricane Helene, according to FindEnergy.com and the Georgia Power outage map as of around 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Out of a total of just under 7,000 customers, nearly 2,000 outages are being reported. These outages are mostly with Georgia Power, which serves the vast majority of power customers in the three counties. The total numbers of outages and power customers are estimates by FindEnergy.com.

Bleckley County has a majority of the outages — around 1,418 (47%) of customers remain without power

Twiggs has the second highest number of outages at 333 customers, or 22% of the county’s total.

About 9% of Wilkinson County’s power customers, 216 total, are experiencing outages.

Customers of Georgia Power can report outages on their website. Local county Emergency Management Agencies (EMAs) are working with power companies to get their residents back on the grid, and anyone in need of assistance can contact their nearest EMA:
